What is Wildfire Operations Research
Based in Hinton, Alberta, the research team was established in January 2001 to provide leadership in research in wildfire operations and wildfire technology development.

Funding for research projects is provided by a board of members made up of both industry and government. Research ideas are submitted, and voted on, by the board of members each year.

Mission. To conduct research addressing current operational issues that have been identified by wildfire management practitioners within the forest industry.

What is FPInnovations
In 2007, FPInnovations united the individual strengths of four internationally recognized forest research and development institutes into a single, greater force. FPInnovations brings together Forest Operations (Feric), Wood Products (Forintek), Pulp & Paper (Paprican), and the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre of Natural Resources Canada, to create the world's largest private, not-for-profit forest research institute with over 600 employees across Canada.
