 Razim Refai

Razim has been involved with wildfire research since 2014, as an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta (U of A). Working on a collaborative research project between the U of A and FPInnovations, Razim was involved in the design and testing of heat flux sensors which have become a standard tool used on FPInnovations’ experimental fires. Since then, Razim has completed his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, also from the U of A, where his thesis focused on performance testing of commercially available wildfire suppression chemicals. Razim spent about 6 months in Vancouver working in technical marketing for a clean technology company before making the move to FPInnovations in a permanent capacity. Razim is focusing on the development of an equipment evaluation and innovation program to enhance the depth of R&D currently provided by the Wildfire Operations group.
