Abstract

Forest fuel environments vary considerably within the IDF forests in Central BC. Fuel inventory data was collected in four IDF fuel environment variants and compiled for entry in the Fuels Characteristics Classification System. Fuelbeds were created in FCCS for each variant in order to compare attributes in each fuel stratum and evaluate potential fire behaviour in these variants. The FCCS outputs for the variants were also compared to outputs of a fuelbed created for a C-7 FBP fuel type.
