Abstract

FPInnovations has yet to be involved in any experimental burns in black spruce stands treated using a stand cleaning method. This is a treatment that has not been used in black spruce to any extent and therefore requires study. Experimental burns will be set up to test the treatments using crown and surface fire. With little research in this fuel type, the success of this treatment may need to be done along with other treatments such as underburning to improve the overall effectiveness of this treatment.
