Since then, the system has also been used by Parks Canada and Alberta Sustainable Resource Development to ignite several prescribed burns. The system requires that gasoline be pre-mixed with Flash21 in a separate drum. This design created several problems, so in 2007, research began into the re-design of the terra torch.
