Abstract

The National Fuels Management Reference database was developed in 2014 by the Fuels Management Task Team and FPInnovations to store fire behaviour and fuel management data in a standardized format in a national database. Currently, fire behaviour and fuel management entries to the database are manually input through a website portal by a limited number of users.

FPInnovations has developed a mobile app to allow a larger population of wildfire personnel to record fire behaviour data to create a larger data set of fire behaviour records which can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of wildland fuel management.

This project is a part of the ”FPInnovations Wildfire Operations Research ” FireSmart Vegetation Management Decision Support Research initiative.
