Abstract

To reduce the potential occurrence and effects of a wildfire in a stand adjacent to a residential subdivision in the interior of British Columbia, the University of British Columbia’s Ales Fraser Research Forest aimed to reduce forest fuels within the stand by thinning from below. FPInnovations monitored the falling and skidding phases of the operation and determined the costs and productiviites of these activities.
