Abstract

British Columbia Wildfire Service (BCWS) and FPInnovations collaborated in a field trial to better understand the value add of high-volume water delivery systems in wildfire operations. A practical deployment of high-volume water delivery systems was done to gather quantitative data on time-based deployment tasks as well as performance metrics (pressure and flow rate). The results from the field trials suggested that high-volume water delivery systems can offer a notable improvement in performance while not compromising on longer deployment durations.
