Abstract
The Forest Engineering Research Institute of Canada (FERIC) (now FPInnovations) evaluated the potential for all terrain vehicles (ATVs) to ignite fires in certain types of wildland fuels. Researchers documented exhaust system temperatures, interviewed ATV riders about their riding habits, and inspected ATVs to identify where potentially flammable debris could accumulate on the vehicles.
