Abstract

Sprinkler systems are commonly used in wildland firefighting for structural protection and fireline reinforcement. The sprinklers used are generally the garden variety type which can be purchased at local hardware stores. This project aims to identify sprinkler design improvements that would provide increased vertical spray. This is thought to allow more versatility for deployment.
